Final Fantasy 7 Remake Reportedly Had 2.3 Million Players In First 3 Days

As one of the most highly anticipated upcoming games for the better part of this console generation, it’s no surprise that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is doing very well commercially. It topped the UK charts on debut and performed with similar aplomb in Japan, and though Square Enix are yet to provide exact sales figures for it, new estimates show just what a great start it has gotten off to.

According to Gamestat, which tracks the PlayStation Network API and its usage statistics, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was played by over 2.3 million players in its first three days. It’s worth remembering that the number of players doesn’t translate to sales, as there’s other factors to consider, such as game sharing and people playing the game offline, but it does give a pretty good indication of how well the game is doing. This also makes Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s launch the third biggest launch for a PS4 exclusive, behind Marvel’s Spider-Man and God of War, which tracked 3 million and 2.4 million players at launch respectively.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is out now for PS4. You can read our review through here.
