Triangles galore in Epic's demo of their next-gen Unreal Engine 5

Publisher & Developer Epic Games has announced their latest tech: Unreal Engine 5.  With this announcement also came a demo of this engine running on a PlayStation 5.  Unlike the eye-catching 'Samaritan' tech demo for Unreal Engine 4 back then, this almost looked like a full-fledged game.  Epic's Technical Director of Graphics Brian Karis and Special Projects Art Director Jerome Platteaux provided narration for this video and highlighted two specific aspects that makes this engine feel next-gen: lighting and geometry.

An impressive showing showcasing their 'Lumen' and 'Nanite' technologies as well as other audio/video qualities available in the Unreal Engine 4.25 build.  For more technical info on this tech or the UE5 & UE4 timeline, read below for more details on Epic's roadmap.
