Blow yourself up over and over again in Hardspace: Shipbreaker

Suffice it to say, I'm stoked for Hardspace: Shipbreaker. After a decade or so of incessant minecrafting and the like, I'm ready to just tear it all down. Not necessarily in a destructive manner, no, but in a salvage operation. This piece will fetch a nice price; ooh, that one too, let's cut it out of there and get it down to the pawn brokers.

Today's video, "Big Bang," reiterates that you've got one ship, but a hundred ways to die. You've got your trusty laser cutter, but it can get you into just as much trouble as it can get you out. Slicing into the wrong thing. Physics crashing things to the ground, or getting blown out the airlock. Fire spreading in 360-degree spheres. Losing your tether and being shot out into the black. Electricity turning enclosed chambers into lightning storms, or turning normally cozy seating into electric chairs. Polygonal bits and pieces scattered from heck to breakfast, your bloodied helmet glass shattered. All to a soundtrack that sounds like it belongs behind a chicken wire fence at a filthy blues rock bar.

I like it. Steam Early Access starts June 16. While the official launch (not yet stated) will come to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
