Report: Walmart Product Listing May Point to Quest 2 Pricing & Storage Sizes

An ostensibly premature Walmart product listing may point to both the price and available internal storage sizes for the upcoming Oculus Quest 2. At the time of this writing, Walmart currently has a mystery Oculus headset listed, which neatly fits within Oculus’ long established codenaming scheme; Oculus Point Reyes. The listing specifies two models, a […]

‘Star Wars: Squadrons’ Gameplay Trailer Reveals More Single Player Action

There’s almost a month to go before before Star Wars: Squadrons lands on PSVR and SteamVR headsets, and you may be wondering how the space dogfighter will appeal to people who aren’t strictly coming for its online multiplayer. EA has published a new trailer that shows off some of the game’s single player mode now as well. […]

Jerry Lawler and Mauro Ranallo call the action in this new trailer for WWE 2K Battlegrounds

WWE 2K Battlegrounds releases in a few weeks and we found out that old school will meet new school as Jerry "The King" Lawler and Mauro Ranallo will call the action in game.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is a big departure from the usual WWE 2K series as this game is an over the top arcade brawler for up to 4 players. This looks like it could be the spiritual successor to WWE All-Stars where it takes the WWE action and essentially turns it into a fighting game with completely fast paced, over the top action.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds releases on September 18th for PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Blood Bowl 3 releasing next year

Blood Bowl 3 has finally been officially announced after being leaked, announced and unannounced last year. Blood Bowl 2 was one of those games I bought on sale for really cheap and ended up having a ton of fun with. It's a faithful recreation of the table top version and the best way to describe it would be if you turned Rugby into a strategy game and set it in the Middle Ages so im pretty excited to check this out when it's released next year.

Blood Bowl 3 will be a big change for the series as it will be using the new updated rulebook for the table top version. Blood Bowl 3 will include 12 teams at launch including two new ones, the Black Orcs and Imperial Nobility

Blood Bowl 3 will release early 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood hopes to deliver a gameplay experience to match the title

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, seriously, it's a mouthful. But there's also a lot going on here. What we have is the tabletop RPG Werewolf: The Apocalypse, brought to life as an action RPG video game combining the protagonist, Cahal's, three forms: human for interactions and dialog, wolf for stealth play, and werewolf for the rage of combat. Essentially Cahal is a werewolf eco-terrorist forced into exile form his pack and family by his rage. He fights against a giant petroleum company, Endron, that threatens the very existence of the world in which they live. There's a hype trailer released at Gamescom below, but it's missing a ton of the backstory and larger World of Darkness that includes Vampires and the three entities of Wyld, Weaver, and Wyrm that rule the lands in which the game exists.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is planned for a February 2021 release. It will be coming for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X. So there is a long way to go to flush out more. of the gameplay and how much of the backstory and larger world is actually going to eventually make the game. One to keep an eye on for now.

Just Dance 2021 announced for Stadia, PS5 (and a bunch of other systems)

I have gone on record saying that Just Dance 2020 is my most-played Stadia game. It might not be the game that I have played the most of (that would be Assassin's Creed: Odyssey), but my family grooves on Just Dance to an excessive degree. The game has kept our family well exercised during lock down, and is a lot of fun on a rainy day.

I was excited to see that the next edition of the game was announced for Stadia. Poking around on the Just Dance 2021's website, I was curious to see if it could come out on next generation consoles. It seems that the game is available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, but not for the next gen Xbox (Stadia doesn't do pre-orders yet). You can also order Just Dance 2021 for Switch, Xbox One, and PS4.

Just Dance 2021 will be available on all systems on November 12. So far, just 12 songs have been revealed (out of a total of 40). Players will also one month's free access to Just Dance Unlimited, which unlocks over 550 songs from the franchise's history. After that month, Unlimited is ten bucks a month. During the initial pandemic lockdown, Ubisoft unlocked Unlimited for all players for a couple of months, which was a cool move.

Playing this game online is super fun, and my kids really enjoy competing with people playing all over the world. Sure, its a little silly for my old self to stand there flailing in the living room with my phone in my hand, but no one is looking, so whatever. I'm willing to look like a fool in front of my kids for a little fun.

Here's the first trailer for the new game. No word on a price yet, but we'll keep you posted as more info becomes available.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered is out today

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered has released today, and there are a ton of different options available if you want to experience Square Enix's multiplayer classic.

We are playing this one for review, but that will take a little bit longer, as Crystal Chronicles is complicated. You can buy the entire game on PS4, Nintendo Switch, on iOS or on Android via the Google Play Store. All of these versions have cross-play capability, via a shared friend code.

However, if you don't want to invest the cash, you can simply download the free "Lite" version on any of those platforms, which will allow you to play through the first three dungeons on your own or play through all 13 dungeons in the game, provided you are playing with someone that owns the entire game. So, if one of your buddies buys the title, you and two other friends can all play together through the whole thing so long as you play with your spendy friend.

So, yeah. Complicated. We are going to be looking at all of these options and how they work together for our review, which you should expect sometime next week. In the meantime, here is a deeper look at the making of the game, released a few days ago. Enjoy!

Black Ops Cold War sees the return of Woods and Mason

Today, Activision released the first look at Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Besides the heavily features Ronald Regan, it looks like old favorites Alex Mason and Frank Woods are making a return. They were the stars of the first two Black Ops games so it's nice to see them come back for this installment.

Not only do we get a look at the game, we get a release date. November 13, 2020 is when Black Ops Cold War will be out. Also, September 9th will be the unveiling of the multiplayer potion of the game and yes, it looks like RC cars are back on the menu.

You can pre-order now and the rumors were true, you'll need to pony up $70 to get the cross gen bundle that affords you a copy on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. You CAN play the game via backwards compatibility but if you want the added bells and whistles the next generation of consoles gives you, you'll need to pay a little extra. There's also an Ultimate Edition and that one includes the next gen upgrade. PC gamers, of course, only have the Standard and Ultimate Editions to contend with.

If you hate adorable little dollops then do not look at The Last Campfire

Not going to lie, if it weren't Hello Games behind The Last Campfire [official site] then there would probably be nothing for me here. But after all is said and done, regarding the past four years of No Man's Sky and its harrowing journey from media darling to embattled studio and back again, developer Hello Games has my attention.

That's a lot to unpack, I know, and there's no time to do it here without further burying the lead. So: The Last Campfire is the next game from Hello Games, makers of No Man's Sky. There is no relation between the two, although it would hurt my feelings if there weren't at least one or two easter eggs to be found about the Every Planet Procedural sci-fi survival game within this new, cutesy Campfire game.

You've got your little Journey squishy character, rocking a horned hoodie and a flappy little messenger bag. Floaty blobs of light help solve a deep-blue and purple world of environmental puzzles. Your little hoodie bro will travel beyond the dark forest and uncover lands populated with beautifully disgusting pigs, adorable monoliths, and other small-studio touches that make the marshmallowy art and architecture sproing to life. I mean look at me: I'm using words like marshmallowy and sproing to describe this thing. Everybody clear the area before I throw in a squeeee.

Hey, like I hinted at earlier, though, these kinds of games aren't really my cup of (blatantly twee) tea. I don't really like puzzles for puzzles' sake, and being so gosh darn cute doesn't earn you an automatic pass in my classroom. But again, since this is made by the labor-of-love team at Hello Games, I'm more than willing to keep a closer eye on it. Who knows, maybe being a doppy little doop is exactly the thing to take my mind off Fall Guys's little jelly bean dudes. Or not. As in, maybe Fall Guys is exactly why I'm looking at The Last Campfire with so much fondness all of a sudden.

The Last Campfire is coming to PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One in Summer 2020. (Which is, like, now.)

Windbound gets an artful story trailer

5Lives Studios and Deep Silver are only a couple days away from launching their action RPG Windbound. Appropriately they have a story trailer depicting how protagonist Kara ends up shipwrecked on the Forbidden Islands. The mural art here is very cool and reminiscent of indigenous South American depictions. The game itself looks strongly inspired by Zelda games like The Wind Waker.

Pre-ordering the game on Microsoft Store, Steam or Epic Games Store will unlock Kara's Ancestral Gear DLC pack. Customers who purchase the game on Nintendo Switch eShop, Playstation Store and Stadia within two weeks of launch will be able to redeem the same DLC before September 10th. Windbound arrives on all these platforms August 28th.

new Yakuza: Like a Dragon trailer shows off the new job system

I feel like Yakuza Like a Dragon is going to be one of the most divisive games of the year. A lot of people might not enjoy the series shift to an action RPG, but to me, after 8 games of the beat em up, I welcome this change and this is one of my most anticipated games coming out this Holiday season.

We got a new trailer for the game today that shows off the new job system in the game. The game features 19 different jobs including Musician, Chef, Detective, Dealer, Barker, Host and many more. Choosing a job will give that character special costumes, attacks, abilities and heat actions.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon launches on November 15th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X will be available as well but no release date has been announced.
