PlayStation 5 is coming November 12th for $500 with a $400 digital edition


Yesterday, Sony had an online event showcasing some games and announcing a few new ones. Who would have thought they would lead off with Final Fantasy XVI and end it with the announcement of God of War Ragnarok? Not many.

The pricing was finally revealed and it fell in line with what a lot of us here at Gaming Nexus thought it would be. First off, the regular edition of the PlayStation 5 featuring a UHD Blu-Ray player will be $500. For those that want to go all digital, there's the $400 edition without the optical drive.

Unlike Microsoft, both versions will have the same internals. That means you'll get the same performance whether you go with the digital or regular edition. That should be a less confusing for some consumers.

Pre-ordering is suppose to start today, but last night a few retailers and e-tailers went ahead and threw up the pre-order page. Unsurprisingly, they all sold out quickly. But, you can expect more opportunities to pre-order in the coming weeks.
