EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid gaming ear buds deliver audio for your console or PC

Some folks enjoy ear buds over traditional over the ear headphones. And there's very few choices out there. EPOS is looking to be another name in that gaming slot for gaming ear buds with the announcement of the EPOS GTW 270 Hybrid.

The GTW 270 Hybrid is promising to deliver zero-latency audio by utilizing a USB-C dongle to transmit sound. You can plug in the dongle to a PC, Switch, Android device, or a PlayStation console (Sorry Xbox owners) and be able to game without having any audio syncing issues that come with many Bluetooth style ear buds.

The magic is the Bluetooth aptX Low Latency support here in the GTW 270. The dongle provides support for the codec if your computer or mobile device doesn't support it. Right now, there aren't many that do, but if you do then you won't need the dongle to get lag free gaming audio.

There are dual microphones so hopefully this can help deliver good voice quality when talking to friends on the phone. Unfortunately, they can't be used when paired with the USB-C dongle.

It's rated for 5 hours of listening time with the charging case providing an additional 15 hours. EPOS says it takes 90 minutes to fully charge the GTW 270 Hybrid. 15 minutes of charging will net you 60 minutes of listening if you're in a hurry to get going.

On the go, they're rated for IPX5 water resistance so you can be sure they'll be fine for light moisture conditions.

$199 is what you can expect to pay for the GTW 270 Hybrid and they are available now. The dongle-less version if you don't care about gaming can be pre-ordered for $169.99.
