New Werewolf: The Apocalypse game launching early February

I've got a copy of Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood in hand for review. That's all I'm allowed to say about that. Except that you can expect our full review on launch day, February 4.

This developer diary for Earthblood, titled Welcome to the Pack, warms you up for the eco war raging throughout Werewolf: The Apocalypse. The first dev, without irony, says we'll get to play as a werewolf (naturally) in a world much darker than our current one (they'll have to prove it). But the noble goal of protecting the Earth's environment is offset by the moral cost of murdering rooms full of security guards, but letting scientists live, and being labeled an ecoterrorist.

It's good to hear that narrative designer is a tabletop Vampire: The Masquerade veteran, and switched his dungeon mastering over to Werewolf: The Apocalypse when development began on the game. Many other team members likewise knew what was up with having a tabletop Werewolf vocabulary in place on day one.

If nothing else, playing as a werewolf seems like a great way to look like a 50-year-old Hells Angel One-Percenter but still worship something as Tolkien-sounding as Mother Gaia. At the same time, it's great to paint the whole room red with blood, then revert back to being a human reflecting on all the carnage they've created. Good times.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood launches February 2 and is coming out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One X|S, and PC.

Wales Interactive's new interactive film I Saw Black Clouds coming to all platforms

I always get a little excited when I see Wales Interactive announce a new interactive film. I have a grand time "requesting" my family play through these games with me, taking turns making choices and hooting at our horrible outcomes. I'm a fan, and there must be a lot more like me out there, because Wales Interactive just keeps cranking these things out.

This time, WI teamed up with UK production company Ghost Dog Films for a spooky-looking entry entitled I Saw Black Clouds. This one looks like a legit creepy ghost story. Check out the trailer:

Looks pretty good, right? As usual, the story will shift around, depending on the choices you make. Unlike some other games that sometimes stick to variations on the same narrative, Wales Interactive's games tend to swing wildly in different directions. These games also respect the player's time, allowing you to skip scenes you've already seen on replay, so you can get to the good stuff while trying to see different endings.

I Saw Black Clouds has been announced for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac, with PS5 and Xbox X|S versions coming at a later date. Check out the game's website here, and keep an eye on Gaming Nexus for more news on this one as it develops.
